Buon giorno! Welcome to Adventures in Italy! I love Orvieto and I’m so excited to share it with you…all the sights, sounds, smells, the people, the culture, the LIFE! Leave the heavy lifting to me and relax and soak up all that Orvieto has to offer.
A little background on me…I was born and raised in a suburb of Syracuse, NY. I now live just outside Toronto, Canada. I’ve travelled extensively, largely due to my 4 years spent working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a videographer. I was lucky enough to see much of the world and get paid for it! I’ve worked in TV, and as an independent consultant for a scrapbooking company, before finding my way to Orvieto, Italy, in 2013.
I first came to Orvieto in 2013 as part of a photography retreat. I did all the things you will do, and it truly changed my life. That may sound dramatic, but it’s true! I felt immediately immersed into the culture and comfortable, despite the language barrier, wandering around and taking in all that Orvieto has to offer.
I returned to Orvieto in 2015, and planted the seeds for taking over Adventures in Italy from it’s founders, Kristi and Bill Steiner. With their blessing, here we are!
A little background on Adventures in Italy…Kristi and Bill Steiner starting leading tours to Orvieto in 2003. Over the years they’ve developed relationships with the community – shop owners, restaurant owners, residents – and all of these relationships enhance your experience in Orvieto. You will feel like a part of this community by the time your week is up, saying “Ciao” to all of your new friends as you pass through the cobblestone streets on your way to visit Antony and Romina at the Blue Bar for your mid-day cappuccino! You will choose your week with us based on the artist you’d like to work with, and half your time will be spent in workshops. The other half will be spent exploring! We have exciting things planned for you! A cooking lesson where you prepare and feast on your own meal, a vineyard tour with wine tasting, and a tour of 8th century B.C. Etruscan caves. And of course there’s plenty of time to explore Orvieto on your own or with your new friends.
I hope you will discover Orvieto for yourself on one of our upcoming tours. I’d love to share it with you!
