Kate’s favorite and most important day from her last trip to Orvieto was undoubtedly the many hours spent at the Duomo. Both the exterior and interior viewing occupied her brain and heart for many, many hours.
She will take several of her photos of the fresco painted by Luca Signorelli to use to create meaningful and beautiful images for your book. The story of the Fresco will be discussed and you will have the opportunity to make the story your own through journal prompts and then transfer those images and ideas to bring this ancient message into your own present lives.
The façade of the Orvieto Cathedral are graced with reliefs that are incredibly beautiful and complex. Kate will demonstrate how to create one of these relief figures using plaster that will be sculpted into your book. No sculpting experience necessary She also will be sculpting a relief head for your covers. A template and mold for both of these techniques will be available to use to create these images.
Kate will show you how to make pockets and little books within the larger book to tuck away keepsakes gathered during your journeys. She will also demonstrate wiring techniques to weave into your book. Don't miss this opportunity to discover the magic of this amazing Duomo with Kate.
