About

Buongiorno, welcome to Adventures in Italy! I’m Michelle, and I’ll be your host. I love Orvieto and I’m so excited to share it with you – all the sights, sounds, smells, the people, the culture, the LIFE. Leave the heavy lifting to me and relax and soak up all that Orvieto has to offer.

A little background on me: I was born and raised in a suburb of Syracuse, NY and I now live just outside Toronto, Canada. I’ve travelled extensively, largely due to my four years spent working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a videographer. With Royal Caribbean I was lucky enough to see much of the world and get paid for it. I worked in TV, and as an independent consultant for a scrapbooking company, before I found my way to Orvieto, Italy in 2013.

I first came to Orvieto as part of a photography retreat. I did all the things you will do, and it truly changed my life. That may sound dramatic, but it’s true! Immediately I felt immersed in the culture and comfortable in my surroundings, despite the language barrier and being in an unfamiliar place. Returning to Orvieto in 2015, I planted the seeds for taking over Adventures in Italy from founders Kristi and Bill Steiner. With their blessing, here we are.

A little background on Adventures in Italy: Kristi and Bill Steiner started leading tours to Orvieto in 2003. Over the years, they became part of the community. As they established relationships with shop owners, restaurant owners and residents, they were able to enhance the guest experience. That means you’ll feel like a part of the community by the time your week is up, saying “ciao” to all of your new friends as you pass through the cobblestone streets on your way to visit Anthony and Romina at the Blue Bar for your midday coffee.

Choose your week with us based on an artist you’d like to work with, and half your time will be spent creating with them. The other half will be spent exploring. We have exciting things planned for you! Perhaps a cooking lesson where you prepare and feast on your own meal, a vineyard tour with wine tasting, and a trip to the eighth century B.C. Etruscan caves? And of course there’s plenty of time to explore Orvieto on your own or with your new friends.

I hope you will discover Orvieto for yourself on one of our upcoming tours. I’d love to share it with you!
