With the end of the year fast approaching, you may be thinking about your travel plans for next year.  If a trip to Italy is on your list, maybe one of the Adventures in Italy offerings will fit the bill.  Join us in Orvieto in 2026!

The 2026 classes are a mix of returning teachers, students-returning-as-teachers, and brand new partnerships.  First up, Susan Edmonson.  Susan first taught with Adventures in Italy in 2024, and many of her students from that class are back for more!  Get your threads in order and join us to create a lovely handstitched book made of vignettes of Orvieto.

Next up is Jeanne-Marie Webb.  Student turned teacher, Jeanne-Marie has been to Orvieto a few times.  This time for Feathers & Bones, an exploration of clay and paint.  Sculpt with paper clay and add mixed media elements to create several keepsakes under Jeanne-Marie’s gentle eye.

New (to Orvieto) teacher Leaca Young will help you craft a journal using found treasures, collage and sketching.  Awaken your senses and ignite your creative spirit.

Someone who has been to Orvieto almost as many times as I have, Sue Spargo, is up next to end the spring season.  Sue is doing two classes back to back, currently sold out but get your name on the waiting list.  Sue has created a special project for her Adventures in Italy students, a bag made with the help of local leather artisans Federico and Hannah Badia.

Jump ahead to September and Karen John.  I first met Karen in Sue Spargo’s class, and now she’s back to teach for Adventures in Italy.  Karen has created a special embroidery project inspired by her own Umbrian experiences.

And lastly, Jennifer Reis, new to Adventures in Italy.  Jennifer will help stitchers both new and more seasoned to craft a series of mini art quilts.

In addition to all of the creative pursuits, each class also has a healthy dose of cultural activities to delight and wow your mind and palette.  Adventures in Italy blends art and culture so you leave with an understanding of what makes Orvieto tick, and what life is like in this little medieval town.
