Your time with JEANNE-MARIE includes:

This week we focus on Clay and Painting and some mobile photography.  You will be putting a small body of works together and finding ways to rhyme your different works together across the mediums.  Work with the concept of incorporating the beautiful feminine elements of La Madonna, the epitome of Madre, that we find all over Orvieto…  into our work; using elements from the mysterious archways found in the quiet cobble streets, the faded artworks around every corner and the breathtaking architecture everywhere the eye sees.  Look at ways to weave these elements into our paintings, clayworks and photography in a way that brings about creative storytelling.  Together we combine the stories and history we hear from the locals while touring this ancient city into our body of works.

Meandering through the beautiful Orvieto streets will bring inspiration and sessions of peaceful sketching on the go. So much beauty to behold in the architecture of this enchanting town. Elements of architecture and pattern will be brought into our clay sculpting and creative portraiture.

You will leave Orvieto full of inspiration and new artistic skills – PLUS personal and soulful artwork that will forever commemorate this life changing adventure!

  • Start off our studio time introductions and chatting about the week ahead.

  • Open our studio time with a field trip {walk} and mobile photography in town.

  • Heighten your sense of observation, sense of color, form and aesthetics.

  • Introduction with some warm up portrait exercises with dry mediums with some of the feminine elements we found around town, focusing on the Madonna.

  • Collage portraiture – La Madonna / Madre focused.

  • Sculpting days – making faces and incorporating them into pieces and building up.

  • Painting our clayworks. Madre della Citta.

  • Create beautiful and soulful art that you will treasure for years to come… rhyming our style across all the mediums we will be working with.
