Meet Gwen
Gwen Lafleur is a lifelong artist, crafter, instructor, and world traveler living in her hometown of Herndon, Virginia with her adorable (and opinionated) dog Jake. Gwen has been involved in arts and crafts her entire life, trying anything from drawing lessons to paper crafts and finally finding her true home as a mixed media artist.
Gwen’s work has been displayed in galleries and can be found in private collections around the world. She has also been published in Cloth Paper Scissors, Somerset Studio, Belle Armoire Jewelry, and Creative Scrapbooker magazines. (You may also have spotted her as a cast member in the pilot episode of Destination Craft, filmed in Bali in 2015.)
Gwen is also a product designer and has rubber stamps with PaperArtsy, stencils available through StencilGirl Products, embossing powders with WOW!, and a line of embossing powders and embellishments from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies. Join Gwen Lafleur for an art journal meets travel journaling adventure in Italy. As you begin your adventure, start by creating a handmade lapbook and use basic bookbinding and mixed media techniques to add space for journaling (in both art and written forms!) Throughout your time in this picturesque city, you’ll embellish and fill your journal, learning different techniques for incorporating memorabilia and ephemera. Take inspiration from your explorations and experiences in Orvieto and bring touches of Italy into your journal. In addition, Gwen will demonstrate ways to add watercolor sketching as well as mixing different materials (maybe even some found objects!) to create a one-of-a-kind journal and a priceless souvenir.
Tour Details
Mornings will be spent in creative exploration, either in the studio or out around Orvieto. In the afternoon you will experience the culture of Italy. It might be a tour into the Etruscan caves, a cooking class, or a vineyard visit. There will also be plenty of free time to explore Orvieto on your own. You will receive a more detailed itinerary for the week in your final information packet sent before you travel.
A traditional continental breakfast is served each morning in the B&B. Because Italian cuisine is such fun, some meals are not prearranged allowing you the freedom to choose where and what to eat. Recommendations are offered and no one eats alone!

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
Single occupancy available for an additional cost. Travel costs are not included.
The balance including single room supplement of $150 USD and optional activities, if any, is due as indicated on the registration form, which is approximately 90 days prior to trip commencement. Payment installments can be arranged directly with Adventures in Italy Inc. Methods of payment accepted are check, Visa and Mastercard.
